RealTrends 500: eXp, Compass lead in one-year movers by closed sides

When it comes to straight number, rather than percentages, eXp Realty and Compass are top movers by transaction sides

eXp Realty and Compass lead the top movers by transactions. Different from our top movers by transaction side percentage, this is the actual numeric increase in transaction sides year to year between 2020 and 2021.

The 2022 RealTrends 500 rankings top movers by transaction sides is based on 2021 sales data. Top movers is a ranking of the 50 firms in the RealTrends 500 that had the largest increase in closed sides or largest increase in sales volume between 2020 to 2021.

eXp Realty had a 116,646 increase in sides over 2020. Compass had a 79,283 increase in transaction sides in 2021, compared to 2020.

Rounding out the top five are HomeServices of America (+44,878), Realogy Brokerage Group (+43,155) and United Real Estate (+21,548).

Top 50 movers by transaction sides

When it comes to sales volume, the top mover was Compass with a $99+ billion volume increase in 2021 compared to 2020. Next was Realogy Brokerage Group, which consists of company-owned Coldwell Banker, Sotheby’s International and Corcoran offices, with a $61+ billion increase year over years.

Numbers three through five are eXp Realty ($60+ billion), HomeServices of America ($48+ billion) and Douglas Elliman Realty LLC at $22+ billion.
