Housing counseling programs would get $45 million in funding in fiscal year 2014 under a spending bill passed by the House of Representatives this week, despite a roughly 2% cut to Transportation-Department of Housing and Urban Development funding $50.9 billion for the same time period. 

The spending bill was passed in the house and has been sent to the Senate, including the $45 million allocation—the same amount that was allocated for HUD housing counseling in fiscal year 2013. 

That number fell from $60 million in 2012 to $45 million last year. 

The full bill, which totals $1.012 trillion, would keep the government funded through October 2014. 

The Senate is expected to approve the bill on Friday.
