As senior vice president and Single-Family business technology officer at Freddie Mac, Eric Lyon is responsible for business application development and support for all critical front-end Single-Family processes. Lyon’s career in the housing industry began in 1998 when he joined Freddie Mac as a consultant.
In his tenure at the company, he has held various positions including as part of the business operations organization and within IT supporting critical applications. He played a vital role in Reimagine Servicing, one of Freddie Mac’s biggest, most effective and successful recent initiatives and one of the largest investments in servicing in 10 years. Through new technology solutions, process changes and data integration, he’s leading the way to reduce friction in the loan manufacturing process while also minimizing credit losses and supporting sustainable homeownership and stability in the housing market.
Lyon and his team are critical to the success of the single-family division, driving innovation and technology supporting single-family acquisitions and portfolio and servicing. The tools, resources and experiences are part of Freddie Mac’s mission-critical solutions to facilitate every aspect of the mortgage business, from loan origination to selling and delivering to servicing. Under Lyon’s leadership, the Business Technology Office (BTO) is transforming the portfolio and servicing housing financial systems through innovative technology solutions. BTO is building a world-class technology platform to meet customer needs and manage technology risk by leveraging emerging technologies and modernized cloud capabilities to provide reduced delivery cycle time and increased resiliency.
