U.S. Foreclosure Filings Up 42 Percent in 2006
Jan 25, 2007New data released today shows that 1.2 million foreclosure filings were reported nationwide during 2006, up 42 percent from 2005, and representing a foreclosure rate of one filing for every 92 U.S. households. The report, published by RealtyTrac, found that the number of total foreclosure filings nationwide rose from about 885,000 in 2005 to 1,259,118 in 2006.
