This week, we welcome Travis Robertson to the show! Travis is a real estate coach and the CEO of The Don’t Settle Group, a sales and executive training and coaching company.

He and Tracey talk about the need for agents to understand and communicate their value to clients and maintain a long term relationship with them outside of the business transaction. They also talk about marketing, strategies for staying ahead of trends, and how to navigate all of the impending policy and practice changes happening post-settlement,
Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn:
- Treat real estate as a business and understand your value as an agent.
- Set clear expectations with clients and communicate regularly to build strong relationships.
- Stay informed about industry trends and adapt your strategies accordingly.
- Utilize modern strategies such as advertising and lead acquisition for consistent and predictable income.
Here’s a small preview of today’s interview. The transcript below has been lightly edited for length and clarity:
Tracey Velt: How have you adjusted your training to guide agents through all of this?
Travis Robertson: We’ve been training on commission negotiation since very much the beginning. I knew that this was coming. Most of our clients are like, this is kind of what we’ve already been doing. And I’m like, I know, but there are some legal things we’re going to have to change in the verbiage and some of the stuff. So we tweaked, we modified.
We’ve been at the forefront of really making sure our clients are fully prepared and confident to navigate these discussions because I think that’s where a lot of this comes in to play. They weren’t having these discussions before and now they’re being forced to have them. We’ve literally just laid it all out step by step for our clients because we want we want agents to win in this market. I think it’s an incredible opportunity for those agents who understand it to actually make great money in this this shakeup.
