PayPal Holdings Inc. and Bilt Rewards plan to roll out a feature early next year that will let customers use PayPal’s Venmo to pay rent and make mortgage payments.The move integrates Venmo into Bilt’s existing payment options, which include electronic transfers between bank accounts, debit and credit cards.
Members can make payments directly through the Bilt app or within Venmo, using their Venmo balance or linked payment methods, according to the announcement.
“Our partnership with Bilt marks a pivotal first step in our journey to bring everyday commerce directly into the Venmo experience,” said Diego Scotti, general manager of consumer at PayPal, in a statement. “Millions of people already use Venmo to split rent with roommates and pay their landlords, now we’re making that experience even more seamless and rewarding.”
The partnership connects renters and homeowners with over 45,000 participating businesses in Bilt’s ecosystem, including local restaurants, retailers and pharmacies. Venmo has nearly 100 million active accounts, while Bilt has five million members.

Others in the mortgage industry have partnered with Bilt. Earlier this month, United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) announced it will begin to offer rewards on mortgage payments through a partnership with Bilt, following its $100 million investment in the loyalty platform announced in July. The phased rollout of services is set to begin in early 2026.
