Mortgage lender Quicken Loans—the parent company of One Reverse Mortgage—was ranked number five on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For.
Google took the top spot, followed by software developer SAS. The Boston Consulting Group moved up one slot to the #3 position, with financial services firm Edward Jones ranked fourth.
The Detroit, Mich.-based lender jumped eight spots from last year’s #13 ranking to round out the top five.
“The mortgage lender is intent on reversing brain drain from Michigan,” Fortune writes on what makes the company so great. “A recent job fair in downtown Detroit attracted 2,500 applicants for 500 jobs. It also partnered with area businesses to offer incentives to employees willing to move to the city, including $20,000 in forgivable home loans.”
Quicken has 8,386 employees and had a 46.2% yearly job growth, with 1,210 job openings as of the beginning of 2014. Perks of being a Quicken employee include an onsite fitness center, compressed workweeks, and telecommuting opportunities.
Other top 10 companies on Fortune’s list include Intuit and Robert W. Baird & Co.
