Between new partnerships and expanding into the mortgage lending business with the launch of Opendoor Home Loans, Opendoor has seen quite a few changes in the past few months. That trend continues for the iBuyer, as its CEO and co-founder, Eric Wu, announced the addition of new leaders to the executive team and board of directors.
“Their experiences from transformational companies like Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and others will be invaluable as we continue to redefine the way people buy and sell homes,” Wu wrote in the announcement.
Joining Opendoor as the president of home and services, Julie Todaro joins the company having consulted companies such as Airbnb and Coupang.
Todaro served in leadership positions at Amazon, including running Amazon Canada, North American books and consumer electronics categories. Now at Opendoor, she will be tasked with overseeing market operations, customer experience and home services.
Tom Willerer has been named chief product officer, and will oversee product and design, according to the company. Willerer was most recently a partner at Venrock, investing in early-stage startups for the firm. He has served as chief product officer at Coursera as well as vice president of product at Netflix.
Moving from within the company, Gautam Gupta, formerly Opendoor’s COO, with now serve as chief business officer and chief financial officer. In this role, Gupta will be responsible for finance, capital markets, business development, corporate development, growth and marketing, according to the company.
Carrie Wheeler and Jason Kilar are both joining Opendoor’s board of directors. According to the company, Wheeler has been on the boards of brands like J.Crew, Dollar Tree, Petco and Neiman Marcus.
Kilar was the founding CEO of Hulu and has also held a variety of senior leadership roles at Amazon. In addition to Opendoor’s board, he currently sits on the boards of Habitat for Humanity International, Univision and Wealthfront.
