Hive MLS is continuing to grow its footprint. On Tuesday, the North Carolina-based MLS announced that Mountain Lakes Board of Realtors (MLBOR) was joining the MLS wholesale cooperative.
This addition expands Hive MLS’s footprint and strengthens its presence in North Carolina and Georgia.
“We believe in working together while staying true to who we are,” Kathleen Simmons, the association executive of MLBOR, said in a statement. “Joining Hive MLS reflects our shared commitment to advancing the real estate profession while continuing to embody the collaborative spirit of neighbors helping neighbors, which is woven into the fabric of our community.”
MLBOR serves nearly 330 real estate professionals in a tri-state region that includes Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Macon, and Swain counties in North Carolina; Union, Towns, and Fannin counties in Georgia, and also the addition of Polk County in Tennessee.
Hive MLS’s wholesale cooperative model allows local MLSs and associations that join to keep their branding, policies and leadership while gaining access to shared systems, support and training. This eliminates the need for agents to input their listings into multiple MLSs.
“This is what the future of MLS looks like,” Daniel Jones, the CEO of Hive MLS, said in a statement. “The Hive model is built for communities like Mountain Lakes, where collaboration matters, but so does identity. MLBOR joining us validates how we can help every size MLS expand the value they deliver to their members, delivering trusted, proven tools and technology that help thousands of real estate professionals thrive across the Southeast.”
