Freddie Mac promotes Richard Martinez to SVP of multifamily production and sales

Martinez has been with the company for more than 30 years

At the beginning of this year, HousingWire reported that Freddie Mac had its best overall year ever in multifamily in 2018.

Since then, Freddie Mac has made a series of high-level promotions in its multifamily business, including appointing Geri Borger Urgo, Catherine Evans, Michael Case and Amanda Nunnink to newly expanded vice president positions.

Now, Richard Martinez’s name has been added to the list of 2019 multifamily promotions.

The company announced late last week that Martinez will serve as senior vice president, multifamily production and sales. According to Freddie Mac, Martinez will oversee production for all Optigo product lines, including conventional, small balance, targeted affordable housing and seniors housing.

“Richard has spent three decades building relationships throughout the industry and ushering countless deals to completion,” said Debby Jenkins, executive vice president and head of Freddie Mac Multifamily. “His commitment to the Freddie Mac team, our lenders and borrowers, and our mission is exceptional – as is his impact on our business and industry.”

Martinez started out at Freddie Mac in 1988 as the managing regional director of the central region. He was promoted to vice president of production and sales in 2012. He most recently served as interim co-lead for Freddie Mac’s conventional production and sales team, alongside Peter Giles, the company’s vice president of production and sales.
