Over the weekend, Bob Yeary, an advocate for reverse mortgages and a close to friend to many in the industry passed away after fighting cancer. He was surrounded by friends and family.
Bob was a successful entrepreneur who co-founded Reverse Mortgage Solutions in 2007 with the help of Marc Helm and Ken Austin. After selling the company to Walter Investment Management Corporation in 2012, Bob was still involved in the industry but devoted most of his time to his family and the Nancy Yeary Women’s Cancer Research Foundation.
RMD was started with the help of Bob and Marc when they purchased the first email advertisement we ever sold in 2007. Over the years they have not only been great business partners, but I’m lucky enough to call them friends.
If you knew Bob, you know that he lived life to the fullest and had a long list of endearing nicknames. Whether you knew him as Bob, the “General” or as “Uncle Bob”, we all knew him as a man who could light up a room with his smile and enthusiasm for life. I was lucky, I got to spend time with Bob and his family the weekend before I got married this past summer. Even as he was fighting cancer, the spirit and love he continued to share with his friends and family was inspiring.
That’s the Uncle Bob I will remember. We will miss you Bob, thank you being a part of our lives.
