Irsal Alsanea leads the integrations engineering group at Blend, the company behind many other companies’ ventures into the realm of digital mortgages.
Alsanea pioneers integrations at Blend and played an integral role connecting Blend with large, established banks and their technology teams.
Her leadership and engineering prowess have enabled Blend to integrate its platform with existing, oftentimes legacy, technology of the country’s most established banks, such as Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank.
Alsanea led the integration with Wells Fargo, driving the partnership’s architecture paradigm. Alsanea’s vision and efforts have had a considerable impact on the mortgage process for lenders and borrowers across the nation.
In addition to spearheading integrations, Alsanea wrote a significant portion of the business logic for the workflows in the Blend’s consumer-facing borrower application. Her work has transformed a time-consuming, manual process into a streamlined digital interface that shaves eight to 10 days off closing.
Alsanea is the founder of the Women in Computing community at Northwestern University, an organization with hundreds of members and sponsorships for women in. She is also an advisor at StartUp Rising, working to drive the diversity conversation into inclusive action.
