Something nobody knows about me is that I am a third-degree black belt.

My favorite vacation was a 10-day sailing trip off the British Virgin Islands.

When I was younger I wanted to be a dentist.

I can’t go without popcorn.

I always treat my customers as if they were my parents.

When I was a kid I branded our pony (and I got in a lot of trouble for that).

I’ll never forget going backstage and meeting members of The Eagles prior to a concert in Chicago. (Thanks, Jim!)

The craziest thing I’ve ever done was cliff dive from 75 feet (several times).

If I could meet anyone, past or present, it would be Thomas Jefferson.

My favorite movie is Caddyshack.

My first car was a1967 Ford LTD.

My first job was working for a tree service for $2 an hour, cash.

My parents taught me how to work hard with honesty and integrity.

I’ve never lowered my values and standards.

The most memorable moment in my life was when my children were born.

My biggest sales tip is to focus on your customers’ needs and listen to what they are saying. Many times we get to hear their life story. Be a good listener and build a personal relationship.

I love my job because I can truly help affect my customers’ and their families’ lives in a positive way.

To be successful in originating HECM loans you need to focus on both serving your customers’ needs and creating your referral partner network.

The best advice I could give a fellow HECM originator would be to work hard and always do what is best for your customers.

I entered this industry because I was intrigued by the product and my parents were entering retirement.

The most challenging part of my job is when I have to tell a prospect that based on their current circumstances, the HECM will not work at this time.

The most important thing seniors should understand about reverse mortgages is that it should be part of a long-term financial plan, not a short-term fix.

People should seek a career in the reverse mortgage industry because it is both personally and financially rewarding.
