Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice arrived Wednesday morning at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey to begin his 41-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud as well as not paying about $200,000 in taxes.
In March 2015, Joe and Teresa Giudice pleaded guilty to charges alleging that they falsified loan applications to fraudulently obtain $5 million in mortgages and construction loans over an eight-year period.
According to CBS News, the judge staggered their sentences so that one of them would be able to take care of their four young daughters.
Teresa Giudice was sentenced on to 15 months in prison for her part in the scheme. When she was released from prison in Danbury, Conn., in December, Giudice will be subject to two years of supervised probation.
Joe’s attorney Miles Feinstein says with time off for good behavior he could serve about 35 months, and since he’s been living in the U.S. illegally since infancy, he could also face deportation to Italy.
In 2015, Page Six announced that their waterfront home they owed $348,000 to HSBC Bank, went with absolutely no bids despite an opening bid of only $100.
