Kimberly Haman initially had some difficulty in finding out what was holding up her refinancing from PrimeSource Mortgage.
The explanation: she was listed as deceased on her credit report.
Apparently, when she went to Heartland Bank to join her parents joint checking account, that's when the mix up occurred.
Allegedly something went wrong when Heartland ran her credit, something that took months to resolve.
She is now requesting a trial by jury to claim punitive damages.
A copy of the refusal letter, and statements from the defendants, can be found here.
