MERSCORP, parent company of mortgage registry MERS, racked up another legal victory in Oregon this week.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon reportedly dismissed a case in which the former homeowner asked the court to invalidate a recent sale of the property.
MERS says its role as deed of trustee became an issue in the lawsuit, but the court dismissed the challenge, saying the homeowner received proper notice of the transaction.
